The background for this poem is very personal. My ex boyfriend, he and I both reside in the mountains of Washington State. He is a huge lover of oceans, seas, mountains and nature in general. So the background speaks of him while the words of this poem speak from me. This is Part One of a two part poetry piece. These are being written as this break-up unfolds and the end of this journey has yet to be written.
So...yes...this is vastly personal. One other poem took me 2-3 years to finish because it was also a 'journey' piece. I am and will always be an emotional writer. My words will always come from me unfiltered, and unapologetic in it's style. Sometimes I can not stick to one style of poetry, I will mix and match. It is its own art, and there is no right or wrong in it.
